Illegal aliens threaten U.S. medical system

Docs journal reports hospitals being closed, previously vanquished diseases being spread

"Today, legal immigrants must demonstrate that they are free of communicable diseases and drug addiction to qualify for lawful permanent residency green cards," writes Cosman, a medical lawyer, who formerly taught medical students at the City University of New York. "Illegal aliens simply cross our borders medically unexamined, hiding in their bodies any number of communicable diseases."

Many illegals entering this country have tuberculosis, according to the report.

"That disease had largely disappeared from America, thanks to excellent hygiene and powerful modern drugs such as isoniazid and rifampin," says the report. "TB's swift, deadly return now is lethal for about 60 percent of those infected because of new Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis. Until recently MDR-TB was endemic to Mexico. This Mycobacterium tuberculosis is resistant to at least two major anti-tubercular drugs. Ordinary TB usually is cured in six months with four drugs that cost about $2,000. MDR-TB takes 24 months with many expensive drugs that cost around $250,000 with toxic side effects. Each illegal with MDR-TB coughs and infects 10 to 30 people, who will not show symptoms immediately. Latent disease explodes later.

Security during ILLEGAL immigration support march cost more than $300,000

Story Here

PHOENIX - Phoenix officials spent at least $309,000 to ensure public safety during the immigration march on Monday that drew more than 100,000 people to downtown Phoenix.

That's about $3 per person.

"We invested the appropriate resources we believed were needed to provide for a safe and orderly event for the participants, the motorists and the general public," said David Ramírez, a city spokesman.
The marchers rallied in support of legalization for millions of undocumented immigrants.

Illegal Immigration: Politics As Usual
Instead of enforcing the law, our elected officials around the country seem to favor rewarding law breakers. Here are a few of the rewards being considered – some of which are already in place…
• Driver’s licenses
• Discounted college tuition (that many poor Americans can’t get)
• Welfare benefits
• Voting rights
• Free healthcare
• Amnesty and eventual citizenship

It goes without saying that American taxpayers will foot the bill for any of the above that becomes reality. So the question should be, “Why should illegal immigrants be rewarded for breaking our laws?”

Answer: Politics.

The Democrat Party sees the tide of illegals as being a potential voting bloc. With America’s booming economy, there evidently aren’t as many “poor and oppressed” legal citizens as there used to be. Being Democrats, they’ll take their votes where they can get them, legal or otherwise. They’ve even been seen at recent illegal immigrant “rights” rallies trying to sign Latinos up to vote (Democrat, of course), without really knowing if the potential voters were legal U.S. citizens.

Republicans on the other hand are largely in the pockets of business interests who see the illegals as cheap labor and a way to skirt around the minimum wage. It’s an economic issue. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has publicly stated that he favors illegals for tending to the green at his favorite golf course. In other words, Bloomberg doesn’t want to see a grounds keeper get a fair wage because he could end up paying a few bucks more for a round of golf. And Bloomberg is among the world’s richest men. Yes friends; Michael Bloomberg values 18 holes of golf more than jobs for legitimate Americans. Gee thanks, Michael.

Should money for big business and votes, be the criteria for supporting an issue that is helping to
bring our country to it's knees?? On several levels??

Illegal-alien activists target Lou Dobbs
QUOTE
"Lou Dobbs has become the champion zealot of bashing 'illegal immigration' each night at CNN promoting HR 4437 as the only way of dealing with 'Broken Borders' to protect the USA...The organizers believe the firing of Lou Dobbs would be the death knell of the current move in Congress to pass tough border security measures and an enforcement plan to deal with the millions of illegal aliens already residing in the U.S. "Removing Lou Dobbs off the air would completely disarm the national leader of promoting HR 4437 and would be the most powerful message that could be provided to the Congress, President Bush, 2008 presidential candidates and the entire USA,"...

What a bunch of vacuous, inane rhetoric anyways.

If they did not reside in the United States illegally,
they would not even have a
chance to attempt a ridiculous ploy such as a boycott.
Then this so called boycott would not even exist in theory.
A moot cause of an moot issue. Plain and simple.

The whole core of this issue is the rights of illegal aliens.
Illegal being the key word.

The Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act, signed into law by Gov. Sonny Perdue, denies many state services paid for by taxpayers to people who are in the United States illegally.

It also forces contractors doing business with the state to verify the legal status of new workers, and requires police to notify immigration officials if people charged with crimes are illegal immigrants.
Sounds reasonable to me.

I know that it is illegal for contractors to hire illegals, i know that a friend of mine in NH, will not take them on due to the heavy federal penelties now for been caught, i think its because you cant write them off against tax etc...its too difficult, akthough if you are only paying a mexican 6 bucks an hour, theres hardly any need to have them as a tax write off, you still save money.

The year 1787, the man Thomas Jefferson, the foresight extraordinary.

QUOTE
The number of its inhabitants?

Thomas Jefferson; 1787

…But are there no inconveniences to be thrown into the scale against the advantage expected from a multiplication of numbers by the importation of foreigners? It is for the happiness of those united in society to harmonize as much as possible in matters which they must of necessity transact together.

Civil government being the sole object of forming societies, its administration must be conducted by common consent. Every species of government has its specific principles. Ours perhaps are more peculiar than those of any other in the universe. It is a composition of the freest principles of the English constitution, with others derived from natural right and natural reason. To these nothing can be more opposed than the maxims of absolute monarchies.

Yet, from such, we are to expect the greatest number of emigrants. They will bring with them the principles of the governments they leave, imbibed in their early youth; or, if able to throw them off, it will be in exchange for an unbounded licentiousness, passing, as is usual, from one extreme to another. It would be a miracle were they to stop precisely at the point of temperate liberty. These principles, with their language, they will transmit to their children. In proportion to their numbers, they will share with us the legislation. They will infuse into it their spirit, warp and bias its direction, and render it a heterogeneous, incoherent, distracted mass. I may appeal to experience, during the present contest, for a verification of these conjectures.

But, if they be not certain in event, are they not possible, are they not probable? Is it not safer to wait with patience 27 years and three months longer, for the attainment of any degree of population desired, or expected? May not our government be more homogeneous, more peaceable, more durable?

Suppose 20 millions of republican Americans thrown all of a sudden into France, what would be the condition of that kingdom? If it would be more turbulent, less happy, less strong, we may believe that the addition of half a million of foreigners to our present numbers would produce a similar effect here. If they come of themselves, they are entitled to all the rights of citizenship: but I doubt the expediency of inviting them by extraordinary encouragements….

Question: Aren't the only ones participating in this boycott the ones that WANT to boycott?

Why is it considered wrong if all the illegal aliens refuse to work, and all those that support them do the same? I don't see anything that says "people are being forced to support the immigrants".

I think their (illegal's) plan is to show the us citizens what life would be like without the labor provided by the illegals. In that case, i say go for it.

Wouldn't it be better to show that america doesn't need illegals working, thus strengthening the resolve to move them out? Again what's the big deal if these people deside to strike and boycott?

Wow, you read my mind. Have INS, and the Boader Patrol out in force to roundup all the illegals and shuttle them back accross the boader. That way we can make sure no scabs break ranks and go back to work early. Would not want to disappoint the organizers and have someone illegal go back on the clock.

Then wouldn't all other strikes be a relative act of terrorism? Teachers striking for higher pay is intimidating the school board and the parents, workers striking for safer conditions would be trying to intimidate the owners of the factories, mlb striking for a higher salary cap?

If they want to stop working, who are we to tell them that they can't do it? They shouldn't be working if they're illegal anyway, so why are we afraid that they'll stop working?
acklan
Not all strikes are legal. Fire Fighter, Police, Air traffic controllers, or most essential services. If you are talking about shutting down the economy I would think it would fall in those lines.

TULTITLAN, Mexico (AP) -- Considered felons by the government, these migrants fear detention, rape and robbery. Police and soldiers hunt them down at railroads, bus stations and fleabag hotels. Sometimes they are deported; more often officers simply take their money.

While migrants in the United States have held huge demonstrations in recent weeks, the hundreds of thousands of undocumented Central Americans in Mexico suffer mostly in silence.

Why dont USA adopt the same policy towards illegals... Im Sure President Fox wont mind blink.gif

What this says to me is what makes the US great country, the democratic values, similar to that of Europeans and Australia, leads to situations as such. And it is up to us to control, regardless of hoe helpless people feel leading them not ot vote ect....I know how passionate quiteman and scarlett in particular feel about this issue, it is obvious the system is abused, but there is a fine line between what is considered acceptable actions in dealing with this matter, if we treat this matter incorrectly it will be only become ammunition for the socialists and commies, and while it will work in the short term i feel will give these people a stronger battle against freedom and democracy.

Why? Because we in the US practice laws of humanity. We would never treat an illegal alien in such a horrid way.
Problem is, that is one of the reasons that we have such an illegal alien influx here in the United States.
If we were to apply the same treatment of illegal aliens as they do in Mexico, they wouldn't be so quick to
immigrate here. But again we do not treat human beings that way.

And as far as Fox goes, well he is a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black!
