Newbie here with a question.

I need at least a four port router to work with my two computers and my laptop. I have a cable modem and all my computers have Windows XP Professional on them. All the computers are in the same room, but I was thinking I would like to take my laptop into the living room from time to time to work.

What is the best router out there for my situation?

Thanks
Grinler
Do you want to go wireless with the laptop for the living room or do you have network cable run throughout your house?
Goatman
I'm thinking wireless if I can get one that won't slow down all my other computers too much.

The wireless ones will not slow you down any. They will be more expensive though. What price range are you looking to spend for all of it?
Goatman
$100 or less. I have seen some on E-bay that are supposed to be pretty good for much less than that.

A popular model is the WRT54G from linksys. It comes with a 4 port wired switch and wireless built into the same unit.

Costs around 69 bucks i think:

This is an excellent choice and as Grinler stated with the 4 port wired switch which will allow you to hook your desktops up with Cat5 cable and not have to purchase wireless cards and will also let you go wireless with your laptop.

Thanks fellas. That's just the kind of advioce I am looking for.
