Hello,

I am hoping that someone can tell me the difference between a Xircom modem card with the model numbers of REM56G-100 and RBEM56G-100.
Its called the Xircom Realport 10/100 Ethernet+56 Modem.

I have Win98SE / laptop and my modem is shot and I need to get a new one.

I have seen both of them listed on the internet and cannot find anything to tell me the difference between the two items.
I have the REM56G-100 modem card.

Can someone please explain the difference - if there is one. whistling.gif

Thanks
acklan
In this article the REM56G-100 is not supported by XP, but the RBEM56G-100 is supported.

Thanks Acklan for answering my post but I am a little naive on some of this stuff.

I have read the info you posted but still do not quite understand.

Are these two modem basically the same. Can I use both on my Windows 98SE laptop??

Thanks
acklan
According to what I read you can use either with 98, but the REM56G-100 is limited to 98.

Thanks Acklan for replying back. Now I understand.

I can always count on this forum to give me answers to all my
computer questions. thumbup.gif
