Hello,

Every time I start up Spybot Search and Destroy, a message pops up stating the following:

The application has been changed since it was created. Since Spybot S & D does not change itself, we recommened you check your system instantly for malware and viruses.

I'd had a few problems downloading updates for Spybot, and it crashed a couple of times. Maybe this is the cause of the problem. In any case, I've used Ad-Aware, Ewido, AVG and others to check for problems. None have been revealed, so I'm hoping I'm OK. Maybe others have had the Spybot warning too?

Thanks all,

Ally.

Where does this message come from, your firewall?

The message is from the Spybot application itself.

There have been a few similar reports at the Spybot forum so they are aware. PepiMK (Spybot S&D Developer) responded in the last post here.

Thanks again for your help. Good to hear that it's not just an issue for me.

Ally.

I was just reading a newer thread (Spybot Changed Itself)on this at the Spybot forum:

http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=3079

In post #3 Spybot Sandra explains that there is a known bug causing this and it has been identified and fixed and will be in the next program upgrade. If you do not want to wait-she provides a link to their beta where you can copy the new .exe into Spybot folder over the old.

No problem-nice coincidence as it was the most recent post at the Spybot forum and I had just left there to come here.

It is always nice to have one less aggravation in life.
