Hi All,
I have a Belkin Wireless G Router 2.4Ghz (802-11g) which seems to overheat,
My PC links via a Belkin 10/100 LAN card to the router, then goes via an NTL:home 200 cable modem to the rest of the world...
Frequently the LEDs for the lines from my 2 pcs go to amber, with all other LEDs off except the modem link which stays green (it has power from these sources even if only at signal levels...)
I lost the receipt for my 1st unit, but bought another identical unit later, the 2nd router developed the same fault. The kit has a lifetime warranty but I didn't think I had any chance with no proof of purchase. (I am in England).
3 months on, the new router has developed the same fault, meaning I have to unplug/reconnect the power to the router.
Is this a well-known fault? If so, any work-rounds, like adding a fan? Maybe this kit is bad news, and I haven't read that news yet... or maybe I am writing it now!!!
I have re-sited the routers and cable modem so they are not heating each other up.
Any suggestions welcome.
Tony
