Hello. I have a dell inspiron 8600 that wont boot. I boot to the diagnostics test of the dell cd and found the error code 0f00:0244

The notebook was fine and i have not loaded anything recently. I utilize Mcafee antivirus and x of soft spyware. Any info would be great to help me break through another pc problem. I'm used to it now but these hours and hours of trouble shooting are usually solved quickly here.

The error code indicates your hard drive has failed. It has bad sectors that is not allowing you to boot. You may be able to do a repair install and recover some of your data but in the end you will be replacing the hard drive. Except for the data the good news is hard drives are fairly cheap and easy to replace yourself.
