Yesterday I was really surprised when ZA Pro completed a Virus Scan and reported 2 High Risk, Bad News Viruses. BOTH were 32.Swizzer. Unable to Repair, Isolate or Delete It took me 30 mins to find any sense on the net about them and only a trawl of Symantecs Library showed this Known Trojan..........Frankly I am surprised because it turns out "Swizzer" was reported to be inside NOT_MINIME_Universal Uninstaller..***** sent to me by email from lop.com as well as in the U.U.I downloaded from their site 18 Months ago, and a full HJT fix was done by BC afterwards..........(for other nasties as well)

Removal was simple (I hope), just deleted the Two Offending files..1 a Zip file and the other the Unzipped File...emptied RB and Sys Res.

Questions

Why did this Trojan only get reported Yesterday, when I do a full scan every week.......ZA Pro
A squared and other progs did not find it
It is not a widely reported Trojan, but from what I can read it is a bit nasty......Mentions of "It may be downloaded by one programme/Owner, but can be controlled by another"....Sort of Lost me!!

Any comments would be nice as I will admit to being somewhat confused.........

It is possible that the infected files were in your System Restore folder. As with all AV programs, none of them can detect everything so that's probably why a-squared did not detect it.

The last hjt log I did with this infection at another forum, I used ewido which found and cleaned it without problem.
