Just went through cleaning up a hijacked laptop via this site.

During the clean up process, the display settings changed on it's own. My computer thinks it now has 2 monitors. I can't change the screen size or colors back to the original settings. I have tried to remove the 2nd monitor and it just re-installs upon reboot. I've tried disabling the 2nd monitor and it even shows it xed out, but it's still there.

The tech that helped me suggested that I post under this topic to see if someone can help. He even got a second opinion and says that the computer is clean of any spyware, but can't figure out how to fix it.

I have screen shots available that I can email, if that helps.

What Make & Model of Laptop??

Look in Add & Remove Programs & see if you have more then 1 video driver installed.

Supply as much info. on your system configuration as you can.

Thanks for your quick response. I went on line and downloaded a video driver. That fixed the wrong screen size and color problem. Under 'display properties' it still shows 2 monitors with 1 disabled. I can live with that. If you think I still have a problem, here's more info about the computer:

Toshiba laptop
model 1605CDS
windows 98

Thank you

Sounds as if you have solved your problem.
On all laptops I have worked on there will be 2 Monitors listed.
1. LCD Monitor
2. Default Monitor
You will us the LCD Monitor and the other 1 can be disabled or enable it doesn't make any difference.
I just leave them both enabled and carry on.
