...Burning CD, that is. I have 98SE. I am using adaptec easy cd creator and last 2 CD's I burned to make an audio cd using Wav files, the files written on CD are with .cda extention and I can't even play songs on my PC, let alone in my car. I don't remember having this problem last time I made a cd for my car a long time ago. I also have nero but it was making a lot of coasters which I assumed becuase of OS (non xp) so I uninstalled that software and I have no other burning software for now.

OK it turns out I just deleted the short cut to Nero not the program. So I made another audio CD using nero. But the same problem. Files on the CD are still with .cda extention. What gives ?

.cda isn't really the music or a file, it's a placeholder. The actual data may not be visible. I find this a little confusing myself, since I used to burn a lot of CDs with no problems.

I'm wondering if you're getting the right format. Are you burning "music" CDs or "Data" cds? In Nero, I think you would make an audio CD that would play in all CD players.

Guess what it started playing on PC (WMP) then I put it in car CD player and works fine. So I guess .cda has nothing to do with being able to play in the car. Thanks for taking time.
