Full Version: Internet Connection Away From Homebase

Hello:

I am wondering i recently acquired laptop, i do have a desktop and a modem router. my problem is that when i go out as soon as i get a certain feet away from home i can not seem to connect to the internet. Could someone obviously more computer literate than me clue me in thanks.

Without knowing the router/modem make and model I am making an educated guess. It sound like you have a wireless router. It work similar to a cordless telephone. It simplely has a limited range. Usually 100ft or less indoors, and up to 300ft outdoors.
It is the same freq., 2.4ghz or 5 ghz, as a cordless telephone, and about the same range.
