Full Version: Can't Install Ie 6 On Win Me

We have tried to download and install Internet Explorer 6 on numerous occasions and each time it seems to have downloaded correctly yet when we try to install it we get the message that IE 6 did not successfully install and when we've emailed Windows support they write and say that we need to delete the attempt and then re-download it again. We've done this at least 7 or 8 times now and the result stays the same.
We can and we have downloaded many other updates and they've installed and work just fine but for some weird reason we cannot download and install IE6 ( we've also tried to download it from other sites and still get the same results)
ANY suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank You, tj

our op system is Windows ME, on an HP Pavilion 900mhz,128mb,45 gb w/dvd and cd-rw and we're now on cable hookup

Hello, fisttoe, it seems to me your installation has got corrupt.

The next procedure might help you: First, unhide folders and files (from folder options); locate the \Program Files\Internet
Explorer\Uninstall Information folder; move it's contents to another folder (make a new one, just don't delete the files). Restart installation again, when finished, reboot and move the files back to it's original location.
