I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find information on what type of power suppy I would get to replace in the Sony Vaio desktop model PCVRS430G. The Sony site won't tell you anything except it is a Switching Power Supply and I know it is 300 watts. I can't seem to find any information on what kind of replacement I would need. It's my sisters computer and she doesn't live near me. She doesn't feel comfortable taking off the cover. I am usually able to find out more information on a replacement, but I am not having any luck here. I appreciate any help you can give. smile.gif

Thank you so much for your reply, but I am a bit confused as to what kind of power supply that is.
I am use to MicroATX or ATX with 20-24pin connector. I don't know how to look that up to match it with another power supply. I didn't want to purchase the power supply thru Sony. If you can assist me as to what kind of power supply I would look for I would appreciate it. wacko.gif

I could help you more if I knew more about the system. Most likely you'll need a regular ATX and depeding on a few factors you may want to look for dual 12v rails. Please post the specs of her comp and I'll find a nice one.
