How very poignant. Seeing that sweet little niece brings tears to my eyes. I keep going back to see her again.

I think it truly needs to be said again, stevealmighty - you are so very, very gifted!!! I hope that you will, one day, create a book - a book filled with photos, not in any particular kind of order or grouping, just photos. Because you have the ability to make people 'come alive' and fill our thoughts and hearts, talented man, and I love that you're kind enough to share them with us here.
Thank you, thank you!

Thanks everyone! These are some of the extremely few photos that I've taken where I've actually impressed myself!

I think they are very humbling, and a powerful reminder of the sacrifices that are made by others.

Steve, do you, or have you served?
Great pics by the way. Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for another.

Great pictures Steve!

I love the one of the girl kissing here uncle's picture. Very powerful. Love traverses even traumatic death. I know her uncle felt that kiss.

Here's those aerials that you asked for Grinler!
These are all of Boldt castle in upstate NY. I was flying around in a Blackhawk doing various photos for a video project and had to photograph the castle. Because it was hazy that day, I had to adjust some "levels" in order to cut through the haze. Other than that, no digital alterations have been made.
Oh, and again, for those of you just seeing this post, I recommend that you start from the beginning of this topic and check out all the photos. There's some nice photos that you just might enjoy!

Here's another shot that I did...I set this one up and I like it a lot for some reason. It was taken at a military funeral, and the soldier in the photo is a 10th Mountain Division Soldier.

Just a reminder, for those that haven't seen all of the photos in this topic, go back to the beginning of this topic and check them out...you might like them!

stevealmighty, you have a true gift. This specific picture has been coming back to me a lot the last two days... ever since I saw it. I wanted to reply here then, but the words failed me. They fail me even now... but I had to post this. Thank you for sharing these. My husband was an Air Force vet, he passed away in May, and we just had the funeral a few weeks ago. So this specific picture touched me deeply. Thank you! For everything.
Best regards,

Thank you for your kind words Galadriel, I do appreciate it. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your husband. It's never easy to deal with the loss of a loved one. Keep your chin up...
Warmest wishes....Steve

Hi guys,
I managed to get out with the camera yesterday and took some pics of Somerset Dam.
This is one of the dams in our water supply chain. It is full so they are letting some of the water down into the 2nd one (Wivenhoe Dam). Wivenhoe has been between 20% and 40% for 3 years now and we have had severe water restrictions. Good rain lately in the Somerset catchment has filled Somerset and allowed the restrictions to be eased a bit.

Full set of pics on my website.
