Well here is the deal:

After A previous post about the amount that bleeping-computer has expanded in the past two years, the idea of creating A banner to post in your web-site, blog, or myspace.

My question is:

Does any-one have any ideas for this banner?

Any ideas will be appreciated, and if they are good enough then I will try them. thumbup.gif

I like this idea...unfortunately I am artistically a moron, otherwise we would prob have some already smile.gif I would love to see this go somewhere though.
WlkingMan
Could someone suggest a catch phrase maybe?

"Tired of fighting with your BLEEPING COMPUTER? Let bleepingcomputer.com help!" clapping.gif

From a Bleeping computer to a Working computer.

Comments... concerns..? (Basically made this post to bump it....)

Your bleeping computer icon/avatar is great! The overall banner though I find confusing - too many transitions for one thing - perhaps combine the 'tired of your' and the *bleeping* computer into one line? Also with no visible background it's hard to tell why the text is appearing where it does which puts me off a bit.

Ok, it's been updated.... thumbup.gif

How bout now? Any problems?
Rimmer
Just a suggestion - have the bleeping icon there all the time, but stop it bleeping when the final text comes up?
Heretic Monkey
Also replace the "!" at the end of "Tired of your *bleeping* computer!" with a "?".

How about a background? Maybe this:

or this:

I have now run across a horrible horrible problem....

Photobucket is now screwing up my photos when I upload them... they are resized and completely murdered. They are within their limits both bit wise (Kb) and Height/Width wise....

Any other ideas where I can upload them?

EDIT: Never mind... I have now discovered imageshack...

Here are two new ones. The only difference between them are the backgrounds....

SimonBrodie
2nd one is better for me... gold and green background and neon text though?
Rimmer
Nice work. thumbup.gif
I made the backgrounds those colours because it would match the site colour scheme, but there's probably no need to restrict it to that set. Change as you wish.

The first looks cleaner to me.

Another suggestion for the sequence, if you will permit WlkingMan:

1. Your bleeping icon centred no text.
2. "Tired of your bleeping computer?"
3. Bleeping icon on left with BleepingComputer .com with slogan. (leave out "pay a visit to")
4. Same as 3 but icon no longer bleeps.

Just thinking out loud.

I agree that the first looks cleaner: Therefore I got rid of the second all together.

As for your suggestions: I didn't quite understand what you meant... lol.

Are you suggesting that I remove the bleeping from the icon?

I understand leaving out the "pay a visit to". I will take care of that.

Yes, at the end of the sequence - the message being you visit BC and find a fix for your problem, so the computer no longer beeps (or shakes). smile.gif

Here we go:

How is it now?

Looks pretty good to me - can I suggest more bleeps at the beginning before the "Tired of.." text comes up?
I can see now a problem with putting the icon in the middle at the start (sorry my bad) is you have to put the text on top of it. Maybe the icon should be on the left all the time?
Would it look right if you make the BleepingComputer.com text bigger, and maybe stay there a little longer?

It gets the message across very well imo. thumbup.gif

That banner is very nice.

The only concern i have (along with Rimmer's) is the color of the text "Tired of your *bleeping* computer?" It seems to blend in with the background a little too much for my tastes (just personal preference).
