Hello. Every time I start my computer I get an error message that says "WinAntiSpyware 2006 - Service is unavailable". I have no idea how I got this and no idea how to remove it. I've run Ad-Aware and SpyBoy with no result. I've also tried to looked in Add/Remove programs in order to remove it, but nothing appears there with that name. Any suggestions?

Unless you downloaded Winantispyware, it sounds like some miscreant installed adware on your computer promoting this nebulous product, the suppliers of which pay them if they get you to buy it.

Did you update Adaware and Spybot before running them and then run them from safe mode?

Yes, all virus/ad programs I have are updated. I think it may have come as part of the Yahoo toolbar. I uninstalled the toolbar and removed it several times trying to get rid of problem, but still nothing. I'll try some of the other things you recommended. Thanks.

I have the Yahoo Toolbar and do not think it's part of that.

Try the scans.
