Hello,

I am new here so have a lot to look over. That said I have a computer problem that I have never solved.

I have WIN 98/2 with Outlook express 6.something; Norton, Zone alarm etc.

On ONLY one site (Ebay) my computer will lock up and must be rebooted including router (I have cable) whenever I go to certain sellers. Other sellers within Ebay are fine as is all other sites I have visited (Yahoo, Overstocked etc).

I have been told that it is a bit of data imbedded in the picture of offending seller’s listings. Some have it some don't. I have in the past deactivated firewall and security, which did not help.

As this only happens with WIN 98 my only solution is to upgrade out of WIN 98 (Costly)

I emailed Ebay but they dont seem interested so I dont know if it is just me or all with WIN 98.

Any help would be appreciated!!! Please send to

If the router also requires a reboot, then you might want to see if there is a firmware upgrade available for the router. Might not be your OS at all.

If it is not a router issue, it might be a browser issue; have you tried accessing the problem sites with another browser?
Cheers,

Hello
All three are good ideas I will work on the first two. The idea on not using my email address is way to late as a seller on Ebay my address is all over the net. I just installed some spam guards and it works rather well....Thanks all..David
