How to create a favorite in Internet Explorer
Guide Overview
Have you ever visited a site in Internet Explorer and then was upset when at a later date you forgot how to get back to it? If so, then this guide is for you. There is a feature of Internet Explorer called Favorites. When you make a web page a favorite, you are storing the location and its title, in a special folder so that you can get to it later if you wish. This guide will explain how you can go about adding favorites to Internet Explorer and then using them to visit a page at a later time.
Instructions on adding a favorite in Internet Explorer
- Start Internet Explorer.
- Visit a web site that you like so much you want to save it's location. Goto http://www.bleepingcomputer.com as an example of such a site

- After the page loads, click on the menu option called Favorites.
- Then click on the option Add to Favorites
- A new screen will come up asking where you would like to store the favorite. You can save it directly in the main favorites folder, or create a new folder to store it in. For now we are going to leave it in the main folder and simply press the OK button.
- The favorite has now been made and is available for when you want to visit that site again in the future.
- Start Internet Explorer.
- Click on the Favorites menu.
- You should now see a list of default favorites that came with the Browser and any other favorites that you had made.
- If you followed my previous example, you should see a favorite called Bleeping Computer Computer Help and Spyware Removal. Click on this favorite and Internet Explorer will automatically go to the page that the favorite points to.
