I have a computer that has been used maybe a handful of times. Whenever I turn it on, it goes thru the boot up process. Then it asks if I want to run the computer in safe mode. I press #3 to do so. It seems its going to go through but then the safe mode selection comes back up saying that the computer was not properly shut down. I press #3 again and then my computer shuts off. Please help!! This is a work computer.

Whats OS are you using? Sound like 98SE or 98?? Just a guess...... You cant just press go into normal mode on the same screen?
