How can I boost sound and volume on my computer, easily and economically?
All of my controls are as high as they will go but listening to music on the headset or through the monitor or even with speakers, it's not 'premium' as I'd like it to be.

Do I need fancier speakers or headset or do I need to install an equalizer or something like that? I imagine my input/output is about all it will get, as is. Thanks for any suggestions.

You can easily install a sound card, TexasAngel

Solid performance is found in products by Creative Labs.

and no real need to get carried away with the costs.
even old ones do a good job. smile.gif
found at used pc stores, soundblaster cards made anytime
b4 & near the year your PC was made will probably work.

so, your system specs = the best way to figure out what you can or should get.
doing that lil hardware install isn't difficult, ppl here can assist you.

TurtleBeach is another good performer ... many at this link to read about:

Hiya Phawgg! Thanks for the input.

Hmm, will have to check on this to see what will work best.

I, of course, have a sound card, video card, etc... but are you suggesting I need a new one or one that puts out more gusto than the one I currently have? Just wanna be sure before I put forth more effort than necessary.

Thanks. I appreciate it.

Hi TexasAngel67...I have a Creative Labs Inspire 2.1 speaker system that sounds better than my stereo, it has a 29Watt amplifier and a powered subwoofer. I did a quick google, and the best deal I found was at Buy.com for $42.99, the shipping is free. Another possibility would be to call Creative Labs and inquire about refurbished units.
