Another tactic Microsoft uses to force everyone to upgrade to the latest version. However this hasn't worked on Windows 2000. Windows 2000 is still used by a large community, which has forced MS to keep supporting it. Guess it just adds more wait to there shoulders. Wonder if they will continue to offer support for 2000 after vista releases.

btw: whoever pranked MS website, deserves a pat on the back. I wouldn't believe that message even if I saw it on there site, because Vista isn't releasing until mid-year and that would only give people 6 months to upgrade. MS isn't that stupid.

M$ money hungry as always. But they wont slit their own throats (yet). They know Vista is a primarly 64 bit OS. I still know people running Pentium 3 class processors. I was running a K6 until 6 months ago. They will wait they will give awesome tech support to the people running Vista and slowly integrate the Vista dynamics into XP and 2k until the the less well funded need a new computer and the store by then will only have 64 bit processors. Uncle Bill keeps tabs on how many users an OS has (you know he does "Windows Update" and ".Net Passport" log this stuff) and when that number drops below a certain mark he will cut the updates out as a cost saving measure and those 10-50,000 people left using the no longer supported OS(s) will be forced into buying a new system or updating if their computer can
