I have been curious about Linux for years, and just recently I recieved an older laptop with some problems on the HD. I wanted to put Linux on it. Could someone point me in the right step on how to do the ISO and the different versions? I would like to be able to load it up by turning on the computer with the CD in the tray. I guess all of them are like that.

Any and all help would be appreciated.
