My computer has a problem with the CPU maxing out, Something is running in the background that is using all the processors energy. I can stop all apps and non essential processes, no change. Stop explorer.exe and prob stops.??? It seems that explorer is trying to do some task that is a resource hog. It also trys to connect to 210.182.42.110 (whois?) very occasionally it normalises, as if task is completed. Any ideas?
I've done a hijackthis log file and also got a list of dll's loaded by explorer. If thats any use i can attach copies in the future.

Check in Spybot under Mode>Advanced>Tools>System Start up. See if the illegal process it started here.

The startups seem ok. I think the problem is in the modules that explorer loads. I have a log but i can't see how to attach it to this. I'm unable to delete these dll's ???

Have you checked the Event Viewer under Administrative Tools?
donni37
HI, I've checked the event viewer. Its full of error messages. This is the latest:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: DCOM
Event Category: None
Event ID: 10003
Date: 11-01-2006
Time: 10:27:20
User: N/A
Computer: SILENT-COUP
Description:
Access denied attempting to launch a DCOM Server using DefaultLaunchPermssion. The server is:
{00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
The user is Unavailable/Unavailable, SID=Unavailable.

This means nothing to me, unfortunately.
I have removed at least 2 trojans more than a month ago, AVG in safe mode does not show anything else.

Hi Acklan, I think that CCleaner has just deleted whatever was causing my problem, so far so good. A million thanks for your attention.

blink.gif cCleaner... I recommended you use cCleaner? It's a good product, but be very careful, as it will change you registry.
I glad it worked out for you. It probably delete malware in you temp files.
