My beard is a lot fuller now (and i usually don't have it split in 2.... just got bored), but that's the best pic i have of me recently.

Well, here goes....Here's 2 photos of me (lucky you!). One is of me photographing the Vice President of the United States (VP Cheney), and the other is from when I got to photograph Ted Koppel, but with Ted, I got to stannd next to him and have someone take my photo with him. With the VP, well, let's just say that Secret Service would've shot me long before I get to close him! I have one some where of Hillary Clinton and I, but I can't remember where I put it.......oh well. Having my photo taken with some big wigs is an advantage to being a photographer I guess

No, I work for the US government (your tax dollars hard at work!). I work at an Army base which is home to the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY. I was also stationed here for 5 years Active Duty. I got out in 98 and am now employed as a photographer (digital). It's fun, as I get to go to some neat places and see some neat things that most civillians don't Flying in the Blackhawks is a bonus, well, except for when I have to hang out of them to photograph stuff

Cool...if your allowed, I would love to see a picture you took hanging out of the coptor. SHould be an interesting perspective...I understand if your not allowed.

Actually, that was classified, and I can't release the photos. I can tell you that it was photos of artillary that had been misfired a couple of years back. Oops, I can't tell you that either. To late, now we have to find you, pull your arms off and use them to beat you silly Kidding, well, not really. Those particular photos are classified, and can't be released. Other than that, all of my arial shots are rather boring You know, medevac landing sites, runways, potential landing spots, dropzones for paratroopers, government housing areas built to close to dairy farms.....usually just grass and some hills for points of referance.

I do have some that I have taken from "cherry pickers" or bucket trucks, where I'm about 100ft in the air and photographing a huge formation. All the flags make it pretty neat looking.

I've also got some pretty cool silohette (sp?) shots of troops deploying and whatnot. Lots of shots of troops returning from year long deployments, etc. I've been thinking about making one of them into a sig, but haven't really had the free time to do so. I can post them if you'd like, or post links as not to suck up space on this thread.

So that we do not continue to hijackthis this thread...I think a lot of our members would love to see these topics. We have a lot of ex-military/veterans (that the right way to say it?) here on the site who would enjoy them as well. So if you want to post another topic in this forum with the photos or links to them that woul dbe great.

It's a bit old now, the hair's grown (I'm now sat on it) and I have a beard too....

It was a lucky snap 'cos a split-second later, I was blinded by the flash going off while I was playing with my new digi-cam

If you look at the first post in this topic, you will see that I have given credit to Heretic Monkey.
This was his idea, I only did the write up for him to get the topic going.

But I have to say that I love seeing everyone else's pics.
