I just need to ask or say: Does it appear that their are a lot more requests to fix Spyaxe recently?

Do you think there is a correlation betweem it and the WMF exploit? Just my thoughts....

I was linked to a few sites today about the exploit on another forum by a user, and the authors of the articles seem to correlate the two infections most bizarrely...

Websense Security Labs seems to link the two quite thoroughly in this article, even providing a video (.wmv) showing a system getting infected by Winhound through the exploit...

A quick Google search turned up similar conclusions reached by other sites (many just reporting the same thing Websense presented, but with fewer typos or less rational warnings).

This site has a nice brief rundown of infections that have been seen to use the exploit to spread thus far. F-Secure also mentions that they've noted that this infection, and a few others, seem to spread through the exploit in their blog.

So it looks to me like there is believed to be some sort of correlation between the two, however vague it may seem...
