Three Win98's networked with two WinXP's.
Server is WinXP (home ed) Other four are clients
basically to use one program.
Typical logon is "Enter Network Password" after start up
on each system. No password, just "clicked".
Working fine for years until last week.
Now, upon startup normal logon appears:
"Enter Network Password"; Having user name: (client's name here)
afterwhich clicking gives another window:
"Resource: (server name is here) with box for password.
Clicking cancel (without password) brings window asking if restore on next
logon, (yes).
Network sees other computers and server can read other hard drives.
Cannot print (printer on server) from clients.
I thought a virus/trojan download may have been cause
and there were some which are now removed.
I did search for *.pwl and it finds the name of the client only.
What can I do to 'find' password and change/remove it or have I lost part of my
network profile?
thank you
