On my Altec Lansing 6.1 speakers, the sound just go on and off. The drivers are updated and so is the sound card. I suspect that they are going out, because I keep hearing a clicking or popping sound. If they are already on, and the sound occurs, then they turn off. They also come back on, when I hear the sound again. It is usually around 30-45 seconds that they are off. There is no specific application that turns the sound off-and also, the OS sounds (from clicking), are also muted when they are off. The green power light in front stays on the entire time. I was considering plugging the power to another outlet, but I am not sure if that would help because of the way the circuits are in this room. One thing that seems to help for about 3-4 hours, is that I turn the main power off to it for about 30 seconds. This problem just started happening today, and there has not been any hardware/software recently installed.

Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Any thermal issues?
JEservices
No thermal issues. I placed my hand on all surfaces from each speaker, and each wire, and there is nothing warm. Well, there are 2 screws on the back of the sub that are warm, but the sticker on the back of it says that it is normal.

Would the main speaker have a circuit breaker that would be more sensitive then a surge protector? The popping noise almost sounds electrical, but it might also be interference.

I can not think of any type of interference that would set all of them off. Your thoughts?
