You will still need IE for windows update and other pages such as web based av or malware scans that use Active X.

Try going to "tools"/"Internet options"

Delete temporary internet files, then delete cookies, and then click on clear history.

That may speed up opening IE.

Try a few web based scans:

Kaspersky Anti-Virus Web Scanner

Panda Activescan

Trend Micro antivirus and malware scan:

Etrust Anti-virus web scanner

online trojan scans here -

Have you done the basics (I'm sure you have)

Delete cookies
Delete history
Delete Temp files
Run disk cleanup

If not, it will make a difference. Oh and by the way I was a hard core IE fan. I did not touch it for 3 weeks to force myself to use FireFox. It's very quick and pleasent. I don't mind IE but now I rather FF.
Just a note.

ronniechavez, I moved your HJT log to the proper forum.
You can find it at this link:

NOTE:
Please, DO NOT make another post in the HJT forum, until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The first thing they look for, when looking for logs to reply to, is 0 replies. If you make another post, there will be 1 reply. The team member, glancing over the replies, might assume someone is already helping you out, and will not respond. So, just make your post, and let it sit there, until a team member responds. This way you will be taken care of, in the most timely manner.
