For some reason, every time I open Word at home, I get the same document that automatically opens itself up. I can save other documents to my drives but this one document still shows up every time I open Word.

What happened??

Search for all occurences of Normal.dot and delete them

Some how the doc template got overwritten - Word will create a new one after you delete the old normal.dot's
