This program was marked as possible malware in the db. When I block in in ZoneAlarm, I am prevented from connecting to internet servers.

Should I remove this program and what are the consequences?

There are viruses circulating in the internet which uses the same name as svchost.exe. the legit svchost.exe will be present in the %Windir%\System32 folder.

If you want to check to see if you are clean, make sure that you update your antivirus program and run a full system scan.

You could also run an online scan with TrendMicro's HouseCall.

Hope that helps,
