I dont know if this topic is appropriate but i need help copy music to Windows Media player. I have a desktop with windows media player and in it there is a copy music tab. This work totally fine and copys my music to my computer quickly. However, i just got a laptop and in that version of Windows Media Player it has a rip music tab. When I "rip" the music it plays the cd at the same time. So to copy a cd onto the laptop it has to play all the way through. I was wondering if i could change the settings so it acted like the desktop.

I had the same problem with MusicMatch Jukebox, and I found that just click "stop" to stop the music from playing would speed up the ripping process.
I believe your laptop has Media Player 10, like I have, but I don't have that problem. I couldn't find an option to tell it not to play while it rips, but maybe someone else knows...
