Hi, I need help with creating a neighborhood network. We have all agreed to make a wireless network ( encoded for secuirity) so we can communicate with each other quickly and efficiently.
however I need to know if a networking card with a 300m max distance would be able to communicate with a router with a max distance of 100m if the two are 300m away. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

I have a feeling I know where you are going with this Topic. Are you talking about broadcasting HSI service outside of the area prescribe in your ISP's End User Agreement?
Mr Alpha
Sounds like someone who wants to siphon their neighbors high-speed internet.

I was also pondering this same question: Can a wireless NIC with a max distance of 400m communicate and get an actual handshake with a Wireless router with a max distance of 100m, 300m away, without modifying the antenaa? huh.gif

I'm going to allow this topic to continue for a moment, but at the first sign this is stepping over into a discussion of theft of services, I will deactivate the offending accounts.

No. If there is only uni-directional communication, then it is impossible to establich the three way handshake necessary to establish communication.
