This is pretty neat how it works out.

This is cool beer maths!!!!!!!

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute.......

Work this out as you read.

Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have a pint. (try for more than once)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be honest)

3. Add 5. (for Sunday)

4. Multiply it by 50 I'll wait while you get the calculator................

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1755.... If you haven't, add 1754 ...

6. Now subtract the four-digit year that you were born.

You should have a three-digit number

The first digit of this was your original number

(i.e., how many times you want to have a pint week).

The next two numbers are .......

YOUR AGE! ~ (Oh YES, it IS!!!!! )

It doesn't work with the number zero - that's the number of times I'd like to have a pint.

Maybe I should've used a pint of Ice-cream instead smile.gif

Mr Alpha
Doesn't work for 42. sad.gif

But did work nicely with 7 so, a good one still. thumbup.gif

Next brainteaser, why?
yano
Works great!

I remember there was one of these for the year 1998 or 1996.

It's cool to find out how these work, and here is how this one works:
(Let X be your orginal number and Y be the year you were before.)
(ex: 25 as the orginal number and 1973 as the year you were born. And the b-day has already happen this year.

2x+5 is the first 2 steps. (50+5)

Then you are told to muliply by 50.

50*(2x+5) = 100x+250 (2500+250)

Now we are told to add 1755 if we have add our B-day this year. Which would make 100x+250, now 100x+2005. And if you didn't have your B-day this year it would be 100x+2004.

(2500+2005) = 4505

So in essence, whatever your first number was it is now that number plus 2 zeroes PLUS (+) either this year (2005, if you have had your b-day this year) or last year (2004, if you have NOT had your b-day this year).

So now we got 4505 - 1973 = 2532

The reason it works out is because the equation assumes that the number you subtract is no greater than the year you entered early (2005 if you had your b-day this year, or 2004 if you haven't had your b-day this year).

If you subtracted 2005 from 4505 you would get: 2500 which would be 100x.

Hope this makes sense. cool.gif smile.gif

btw Happy Birthday for Monday!

grinner.gif Tasty too!

In simplest terms:

( 100x + 2005 ) - Y = X,AGE

X = orginal number
Y = year you were born
Assuming you already had your b-day this year.

just remember that equation and you can work it backwards smile.gif
boopme
Beauty there Yano !!! clapping.gif w00t.gif

I've got the next brain-teaser:

Blue Gray Orange Blue Yellow Blue Red
Orange White Pink Green Purple Orange Yellow
Blue Pink Gray Blue Purple Blue Gray
Yellow Red White Purple White Red Gray

smile.gif Remember try saying the color of the word, and not the word itself.

For example if you saw Yellow you would say Green.

Next brainteaser, why?

Yes it works.

42 * 2 = 84

84 + 5 = 89

89 * 50 = 4450

4450 + 1755 = 6205

6205 - 1989 = 4216

42 16

MATH!! ohmy.gif No one said anything about math..is there going to be a test?!?!?! huh.gif

Yes here is the test. No TALKING! mellow.gif

1. What color is this? BLUE

2. Fish of Foreign lands are found among of there friendly friends in Finland.
How many's F's are in the previous sentence? Are you sure?
acklan
sad.gif I'm going to the nurse's office. I feel sick.

QUOTE(yano @ Nov 12 2005, 06:22 AM) *
Yes it works.

42 * 2 = 84

84 + 5 = 89

89 * 50 = 4450

4450 + 1755 = 6205

6205 - 1989 = 4216

42 16

Remind me to use a calculator next time. whistling.gif
yano
Don't worry Mr. Alpha, it happens to everyone. I was telling this to my grandma the other night, and when I first told her it, I multiplied by 50 then added 5. (oops)

1. Green (easier when you see the code cool.gif )

2. 8

Next: What is special about this sentence (other than the fact that it doesn't make a lot of sense)

Jackdaws loves my big sphynx of quartz.
yano
