Hi,
I just installed the AVG 6.0 Anti-virus program and now my taskbar moved to the left side of my screen in a vertical position. I cannot for the life of me get it back along the bottom of my screen. I am running XP Home. This happened once before and all I could do was a System Restore. I could do that again but I don't want to have the problem again if I re-install the AVG program which I want (my Norton subscription is up the end of this month). Help please.

hawkwinddotcom
can you not just left click and hold and then drag it back to its original position?
phil7
No, I tried that. Stubborn bugger.
hawkwinddotcom
right click the bar and unlock it first?
phil7
Yes, did that and nothing!
hawkwinddotcom
sorry, dont know then!

Question:
If the taskbar was not locked before the install, could it then be moved by the install?
hawkwinddotcom
maybe?

I run xp home as well and i can once unlocking move the bar to the left but if i LEFT click and drag it back to where it should be and lock it it stays there.

i also running avg 6 and no problems with it

I think I will do a System Restore. The taskbar should then be back at its default place at the bottom. I will then make sure it is locked and then re-install AVG 6.0. Hopefully this will work.
phil7
Papakid, if you're there, what do you think?
phil7
Operation successful! I will know better next time I do an install.
How the taskbar got unlocked? Who knows?
Thanks for the help.
