As an assistance to members using:

"Self-Help and Reading Room
This forums (typo) is for public security and malware announcements. It will contain malware analysis, self-help information, and short tutorials on various security tools. This forum is restricted on (gr. "as to" or "regarding") who can start a topic., (punc.) but anyone can reply to an existing one."

If those threads that have ended with clean logs were posted (as closed topics) in:

Security-->Resolved HijackThis Logs

then a member could see fairly easily:
  • If a similar problem had been fixed previously
  • How it was fixed, including those little misunderstandings
  • Whether their problem was a CWS or a Virtumonde, etc.
  • Without having to scour the entire site for clues.
(maybe a member would volunteer to assist, as the volume of postings in HijackThis Log analysis forum is getting larger)
(completed threads in other forums (like windows, or general internet) might just as well be contained here, also) smile.gif

Not a bad idea. I will look into this during the week and see how best I can get it going smile.gif

Thanks for the suggestions as always

That would be a great idea, phawgg, and it would keep the HJT logs to current problems. However, I would think that keeping the other, completed, threads in their original location would make finding them easier for most users.
Cheers,
John
