I have windows Xp Sp2 and in my add remove programs I have 2 Java 2 runtime enviroments listed one is SE V 1.4.2-03 and SE V 1.4.2-01
03 is 107.00 mb
01 is 106.00 mb
could i safely remove either of them?

SE V 1.4.2-03 @ 107.00 mb is the newer version
and SE V 1.4.2-01 @ 106.00 mb could be removed
if you need the space or don't want duplication.

I believe Koan's right on the money, shadowrider.

You could even dump 'em both in favor of the latest...1.4.2.05

also, check on this in your internet properties--> temporary internet files-->settings-->view objects

you might find a duplication there, as well. I musta done the same thing as you somewhere along the line.

and I have yet to deal with eliminating the dupe activeX whatever-its-called file-or-object
