There should be a simple answer to this - but can't seem to find it anywhere.

When I go to open an Excel file (File>Open>My Documents) the order of the directories (and then the files within a selected directory) is in the order they were last opened (I view them as a list). How can I get the directories and files to display in alphabetical order? sad.gif

There is. First select details, not icons. Now click on any column you want to sort by - filenames, or dates or type. Same as in standard Windows explorer.
