Have you ever visited these forums without being logged in? I did this evening without knowing it, and I was astonished with what I found. Key words like the name of a antivirus product or letters like cd were all underlined, and when I moved the cursor over them a pop-up avertisement would appear. Can you think of what a first time visiter thinks of all those adds? blink.gif

I've found it as an ad campaign to get people to register, but I haven't seen a thing that says "If you regiter you won't see those ads."

Perhaps it's just me, but I'm not enamored by the constant barrage of advertisments.

I experimented by visiting BC without logging in. I used both Opera and Firefox and did not have any popups even though I moved my cursor all over the page, although there were ads (a necessary evil to keep BC operating and free).

Ill check myself.
Be back in a bit.

Edit: Yes, I have seen the so called pop up ads. off of underlined keywords.
But.. as jgweed stated previously. They are a "neccessary evil".
