clapping.gif Hi, I need an honest opinion....Which scanner do you think is better..
AVG Free, or, McAfee virus scan professional. Really would like to know.
gunner
AVG. More reliable.I like Avast better than both.

There are many comparisons of various AV applications from various biased and unbiased sources on the NET. I think it is a fair conclusion from these that there is not much to choose between AVG and McAfee for antivirus protection, and that each has a few different user features; none of the features I have seen with McAfee would justify the cost compared to AVG free as far as basic AV protection goes.
I can say that I have used the free AVG for more than three years without my computer becomming infected, and that every time I have scanned my hard drive with various on-line scanners, none has found anything substantial that AVG has missed.
Regards,
John

Hi, jgweed, and, gunner, Thanks forr your replys......McAfee just scans so slow, i wanted to get something a little faster.....So far AVG is
coming out ahead.....Thanks.

I use McAfee thinking I was safe. I just found out last night I have several worms in my computer which is what brought me here. So I thought all I had to do was have this McAfee virus protection and firewall, but I have some more research to do.

Hi, sunflower, Thanks for your reply.....I've never had a problem like that, it's just that mcafee seems to take forever to scan on my pc...
