Full Version: USB 2.0 PCI Card Problem

I purchased a USB 2.0 PCI Card with VIA chipset to install on my parent's Dell Dimension 8200 Desktop computer running Windows XP Home edition. The card is plug and play, so I shouldn't have to install any drivers.

However, after I plug in the card and start up the computer, it will freeze and be unable to load. I'm not sure if this is a compatibility problem, or perhaps the chip is defective?

If there are any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

Hi uberdabing,

Who is the maker of the USB card?

If you have another PCI slot open , shift the card. It may be conflicting with another device.
