every time i run Spybot Search and Destroy, it starts running/scanning, and then in middle of it, the computer shuts completely down. any idea why?

but, could he just unistall it and down load a freash one? i understand that the 1.4 version, if thats what you have kauaiwahine, may still be slightly bugy.

i believe Bear is still using 1.3 (ty Bear for your sig) he might be able to point you to that version if the 1.4 doesn't work for you.

v1.4 final was released in june and should be bug free so igonuts could be right, reinstall the latest 1.4 if previous ideas didn't help.
