It is always advisable to go to the manufacturer's site and check for new drivers for your particular video card.

OK.
Now we are getting beyond my area of expertise, so I am not comfortable with advising you.

I am sure a member who knows more about this will tell you which one to use, so be patient and wait for a new reply. I took the liberty of editing the title so it would be more in tune with the information you need.

thanks for eveything once again, you've been a big help.
Mr Alpha
The CATALYST 5.8 Windows XP - Driver Download is what you want.
bbddown17
thanks MR. Alpha

do you know what the driver does by the way?

allows you to digitally enhance the output, (correct me if i'm wrong) allows you to OC your card, a whole bunch of extra so-called goodies which you dont need if youre a gamer. my personal choice is nVidia so i dont know much about ATi, except that their new chipset (R250, i think) is claimed to beat the 7800GTX.
