My brand new HP Pavilion dv1000 laptop suddenly started having major audio issues last night. Both on headphones and on the speakers (so I know it's not the speakers).

It sounds choppy and broken up -- sometimes like its in slow-motion. All audio -- CDs, MP3s, video clips, etc.... it's a problem!

Can anyone make a suggestion for a way to fix this? I'd rather not send it back for service if I don't have to.

THANKS!!!

Hi alllisonbraley1,

Welcome to BC....

What I understand from you is that your computer was working fine and then it started having problems with music. The first question to ask is to see what changed. Did you load any software? Screensavers, freebee programs, etc... or visit a site that made you agree to a download before it would work?

Do you have another program you can try...? (If you are using Windows media Player, can you try WinAmp?)

Let us know and we will go from there...

Good Luck,

Rigel
