Ok, so a guy on my dorm floor just came over today, they were partying last night and someone spilled beer on his laptop. This morning, he turned on his laptop and his screen was messed up. I took a look at it and its clearly water damage (certain areas of the screen are bright and you can see the dark bubbles clearly defined and the edge around the damage is significantly darker and around the bottom trim the screen is bowing out).

The only thing i can't figure out is how it got on the screen, because he said the beer was spilt on the keyboard. All i really need to know is, can it be fixed, or should i tell him to start hunting up his warranty?

Tell him to open the laptop up and set it in a dry place (upside down) for a couple of days. Maybe it will dry out, maybe not. The warranty is not goig to cover something like this, sorry.
