I have been trying to install my HP printer after having to have my pc rebuilt due to virus. when I try to use the install software it keeps telling me that I have another program currently installing and to wait till it is done. get the option to retry or cancel. I have called HP support and the guy tried to help as much as possible but nothing seems to be working for getting this printer installation done. Any ideas on why I keep getting this error msg? or what it could be?

I have tried everything you suggested. There is no other printer installed, nothing to do with a printer in add and remove, and ctl alt del lists no applications running , and under processes there is nothing that I can see to do with a printer. Anyone have any other ideas?
