The goal of this pinned topic is to let people know about extensions for Firefox that our members find to be the most useful.

Everyone should contribute their suggestions!

The extensions I am currently using are:

User Agent Switcher - Allows you to change the User Agent that your browser appears as.

BBCode - Inserts the text formatted with bbcode (what we use here at bc) into a forum message.

PrGoogleBar - The google bar for Firefox. This particular one includes the pagerank status for the webpage.

Gmail Notifier - Notifies you if you have mail in Gmail.

IE View 0.83 - Adds a menu option to view the current page in Internet Explorer.

FoxyTunes 0.61 - Control a media player from Firefox. Supports WMP, Winamp, itunes, musicmatch, and many more.

Download Manager Tweak 0.6.0 - Changes the appearance of the download manager.

Image Zoom 0.1.7 - Allows you to zoom images. Excellent!

WeatherFox 0.5.1-Get international weather forecasts from weather.com, and display it in any toolbar or statusbar with this highly customizable extension.

FirefoxView 0.31.1-Open Firefox with the current page or a selected link displayed in Internet Explorer. Adds "View in Firefox" menu items to the content and link context menus. Useful when you have started your browsing session in Internet Explorer by mistake ;-)

I, also, use IE View and BBCode.

SpoofStick - which displays domain info, and helps detect spoofed websites

I also use TinyURL and BBcode creators.

But since upgrading I can't seem to find any of the old themes - have they gone? (sorry - off topic I know!)

I can't live without Adblock, especially on msn sites that are FULL of graphic ads.

Also I'd like to point out that Firefox is very smart. There are a few sites that I can't remember the web site names for so I just type the name in Firefox and it finds the page.

example: gyach

There are others, but I'll let you try them out.

Just gettin FF. I like this so far. I want weatherfox. The link dun work or something. They got one from noaa.gov? I go there for my weather reports...much better than weather.com. Bear with me...i'm still a noob. ty -joe
jgweed
Try downloading the extension from its home page. Once installed close FF and reopen it. Some extensions requite that you manually add that button by choosing View > Toolbars > Customize.
Regards,
John
Bluie
Joe You might try just making a seperate page for the weather report you prefer. You can have all your favorite pages open at start up. Put all your favorite favorites in one folder and have that folder be your default home page.

I love that program. Easily allows you to download every picture/movie on the page.
cybormoron
my favorite is the search box. there's alot of engines you can add to it. most of the other extensions i have i don't know how to use but i'm slowly learning them. i do have probs with a few that i had to get rid of.
foxy tunes caused firefox to crash when i closed the browser session because it was hooked into windows media player.
gmail notifier caused firefox to take as much as 90 seconds to load. got rid of it, now takes 3 seconds to load ff. same with yahoo.
i can't get the weather extension to work either.
thanks for the "down them all" referral, heretic monkey. i am playing with that one now.

Adblocker is great, but my absolute favourite has to be 'I must not fear 1.0'
Grinler
What does 'I must not fear 1.0' do ? Not a very descriptive extension on its extension page.

laugh.gif It adds an entry to your tools menu that says 'I must not fear' - when you click it it brings up an alert, the text of which begins 'I must not fear. Fear is the Mind-killer...'

Actually it's almost completely pointless, but I like it smile.gif

LOL...i kinda do in a weird kinda way
