I wanted to know how to get rid of the PC Health Scheduler?.... It was gone once on my system and now after another "CRITICAL "Express" Win ME update it mysteriously appered in my scheduled TASKS Folder without my PERMISSION! Jeez!, who said I wanted that!? NOT ME! This is what Microsoft does for me because they think they are doing me a favor!

Anyone relate to this breach? Please advise simply deleting it does not get rid of it....

Please help do I goto the MSCONFIG? but what is the "real name" of this covert spy tool?

Search your entries under the Startup tab in msconfig using our Startup Database found at the top of this page. It will no doubt identify your PC Health Scheduler although I'm fairly certain it pcschd.exe or something similar.

PCHealth Scheduler for Data Collection
(pchschd.exe) starts the collection of data for use by Windows Me's Help &
Support's System Information's History view. This allows users to see
changes over a period of time to their system such as drivers. The details
collected are placed in the files CollectedData???.xml files in the
folder ..\windows\pchealth\helpctr\DataColl.

Pchschd.exe is set to run every 10 minutes by default but actually does little and has
virtually no impact on the running of the system. This program simply
checks when run to see if your system is currently idle, if not it then
simply checks again in 10 minutes. If however the system is idle and has
been for the last few minutes it launches winmgmt.exe which collects details
of the current system configuration after which pchschd is set to check
again in six hours.

Microsoft’s PC Health Client Scheduling Application:

Windows Millennium Edition only. PCHSCHD collects data hardware and software configuration data through WINMGMT. This information is used by the Windows ME Help & Support system accessible via "Start \ Help". The information collected by PCHealth is stored in the C:\Windows\PCHealth\HELPCTR\DataColl folder. PCHSCHD runs at startup on most WinME PCs, and subsequently every 10 minutes through Scheduled Tasks.
