i recently reformatted my computer, and it worked fine up until a few days ago when it suddenly stopped working completely (it didn't even load windows).
i went on a vacation, and after returning from the vacation it suddenly loaded windows wacko.gif.
but now when i load windows it looks like its in safe mode (its not), the explorer bar is gray and everything looks almost like windows 98.
ok, this is just how it looks, now lets get to the real problems:
i can't right click the desktop, explorer.exe crashes.
i can't open the control panel, exploer.exe crashes.
i can't save a photo from the internet to my computer, not in firefox nor in internet explorer.
at least firefox still works so i can still write this smile.gif

please help, thanks in advance

Hi Shadowbeast; It sounds like a hardware problem to me. What kind of machine are you using ? If you can open it up by removing the left hand panel, start it up and just feel how much heat your hard drive is generating and be sure to earth yourself (i usually roll my sleeves up past my elbows and rest my forearm against the metal chassis), i have encountered this problem and it was caused by overheating hard drive and the motherboard was also faulty and thats probably why your graphics are affected; it all stems from cheap power supply units starting to spike as they get the mileage clocking up. All this may or may not have happened to your pc and its difficult to be sure without tests but it does sound like your hard drive is playing up.
