I have Teenagers and I'm starting to worry about their internet activity.
They are basically good kids but i did catch one who seems to change the screen when i walk by.
So i want to monitor their viewing habits once in a while, also from time to time see who they chat with,
and view Emails.
Any one who can suggest a good program for me would be greatly appreciated.
A few i looked at were Spector Pro and Webwatcher.

Yes, i don't really feel great about having to do this but if something would happen
and i could of prevented it, i think that would be much worse!

So who is it are you protecting your kids from? The monitors who resell your kids data? Just sharing some information to arm yourself, that even monitoring software can't be trusted.

Speaking as a former teenager with internet access I would say don't waste your time nor your money trying to monitor your child's activities. A much more effective way, though perhaps uncomfortable, is to maintain an active communication channel with your kids and to ask them, directly, what it is they are doing online. Educate them to the dangers of the internet, and let them know that they can come to you with questions and problems arising therefrom without the fear of punishment or reprisal.

If it's porn your looking to abate, then you're just SOL. There will always be a way to find it through even the most restrictive filter, and a teenager who finds that their parents are blocking something, anything really, will take it as a challenge to be overcome.

Well with 4 kids and my wife and i working its hard to keep track of everyone, we do discuss and are open with are kids, computer time is limited and mostly used for homework.
Kids can find what they are looking for if they want too.... they are more advanced then me or my wife in computers, Porn is a problem but they already know how we feel about that .
As far as monitoring our children's conversations for profit, sure that's not right, this is a age of multimedia so better to be be proactive to keep up with everything then to get a surprise down the road imo.
