If I had a quad-core processor, I think I'd want more than a 500-watt PSU.

I was wondering about that myself, thanks for the reply.

I also like small (20-40GB) hard drives for boot purposes, I usually have 1 around from a prior build.

I hope you intend to use more than 1 HD and that 1TB is just for storage.

Looks good, I also agree with Louis. Usually a SSD works best for a small boot drive. You should also know that your graphics card will not Crossfire on that motherboard as that motherboard only allows it with ATI cards. If you want to Crossfire, the MSI R4850-2D1G OC Radeon HD 4850 1GB is a better card that can be used in a multi-GPU setup. If you have a monitor that is around 19 inches or games that will not use 1GB of videocard memory, the SAPPHIRE 100245HDMI Radeon HD 4850 512MB will be the better value. Also, the power supply included with that case is not very good and you may have issues with it.

Ok so i went with Rosewill Xtreme Series RX750-S-B 750W Continuous @40°C ,80 PLUS Certified, ATX12V v2.2 & EPS12V v2.91, SLI Ready CrossFire ... - Retail and a new case, and this SAPPHIRE 100258-1GHDMI Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail as the graphics card. I would have chosen the one you recommended but it was not available on the Canadian site
I know this is a newbie question but for the HDD would it be worth wile to use a small SSD say 30GB for boot purposes and then say two 320GB or 500GB HDD in Raid 0? or would JOBD be better?
Thanks again for the info guys this has been very helpful

I would avoid RAID, it is just not necessary. If you do go the SSD route, I would get 80GB or larger. I also don't suggest Rosewill for the power supply, instead, I would get one from Corsair, Silverstone, OCZ, or PC Power. If you're planning on using Crossfire, the CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W, SILVERSTONE OP650 650W, or OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ700MXSP 700W will do well.

The corsair 650 tx is also good Corsair Link
