i just got done building my computer and everything is hooked up and (before i install os) in th BIOS it doesnt recognize my HDD so of course it doesnt recognize the HDD for vista to install....so im just wondering what it keeping my pc from recognizing my HDD....all the cables are hooked up right and everything.

Have you got another hard drive around the house?
Try using different Sata ports in the mobo too. It could be a faulty drive or maybe even a faulty port. First thing would be to check if another hard drive works.

sadly i do not...i just bought what i needed for the computer and didnt expect to have HDD problems lol of all things, but the wierd thing is, is that it recognizes it when i first boot it up (on the black screen with white letter only)....but then when i go into BIOS under advance and the storage options.....it only sees the dvd drive
